The beautiful La Paz Waterfall Gardens are certainly worth a visit during your time in Heredia. There are 3.5 kilometres of trails to walk that take hikers through the glorious rainforest passing 5 cascading waterfalls as they go. The waterfalls each have viewing platforms strategically positioned on the top, below and in front of each individual waterfall making for the perfect photographic opportunity.
The gardens also boast a fantastic collection of 30 snakes in their serpentarium, colourful birds, delicate butterflies and comical tree frogs.
If you are a coffee drinker then you can learn all about your favourite beverage by visiting Cafe Britt and taking your place on one of their tours. Visitors have the opportunity to taste lots of different coffee and enjoy the light-hearted approach of the tour guides. The visit concludes with the gift shop which by all accounts is reasonably priced.
One of the finest restaurants in Heredia is the Aji de Gallina where they serve some delicious seafood dishes; the salmon is an extremely popular choice as is their tasty chocolate desert.
