The city is known as the 'chocolate capital of Argentina' and visitors are confronted with displays of tempting chocolate delights in just about each and every shop window.

La Mexicana was the first chocolate store to open in the city of Bariloche and this was in 1948, the chocolate sold here is reputed to be one of the tastiest worldwide.
