Buenos Aires is a city full of excitement where there always appears to be something happening. Visitors can shop in the beautifully lavish Galerias Pacifico shopping mall, the building is a truly stunning example of the Beaux - Arts architecture. It houses several of the high end stores including Tiffany's, Christian Dior and Lacoste.
For tranquillity visit the Japanese Gardens they are one of the largest Japanese gardens throughout the world, apart from in Japan itself. The gardens boast a central lake that is crossed by the Divine Bridge. The lake houses a population of carp. There is a restaurant, gift shop and greenhouse which is usually full of delightful Bonsai trees.
The Obelisk is a very modern monument that stands in the heart of Buenos Aires. It was built in the year 1936 to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the initial founding of the city itself. The Obelisk stretches 220 feet into the sky and surprisingly it only took approximately 4 weeks to build. During the daylight hours it is a fascinating sight in itself but at night it turns into a spectacular sight because it is illuminated.
The city of Buenos Aires makes a great location to study the Spanish language as it is the native language and the locals are friendly and welcoming.
